Robin Narciso is an award winning filmmaker based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Over the past 10 years, he has specialized in the production of films investigating humanitarian, development, and environmental issues.
In collaboration with fellow filmmaker Thomas Cristofoletti, in 2020 he co-produced “The last breath of the Tonle Sap”, a film documenting the impact of hydropower development and climate change on fisherfolk in Cambodia. The documentary won the 2021 RWI PACIFIC AWARD at the Minikino Film Festival of Bali. The film, which was originally published by the South China Morning Post, has since reached an aggregate of over half a million views on social media channels.
In 2022, as part of the Refashion study, he wrote and directed “The Haul” and “The Wedding Ring”, two short fiction films investigating the impact of COVID 19 on garment workers in Cambodia. The films were respectively selected by the 2023 Cambodia International Film Festival, and the 2023 Minikino Film Festival in Bali, the latter winning the 2nd place prize at RWI Pacific Awards.
More recently, he wrote and directed “Sra Stories: Distilling a lasting Legacy”, a film documenting the making of an old indigenous rice spirit recipe. The film was also featured at the Cambodia International Film Festival in 2023.
